About You
- A B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or traffic planning projects, with DOT experience strongly desired
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure, required
- Experience planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting transportation and traffic engineering work
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and techniques applied in traffic and transportation projects
- Skilled in explaining, persuading, and negotiating critical project issues
- Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships
- Proficiency in Synchro, Excel, and OpenRoads; knowledge of HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CUBE, and TransCAD is desirable
- Strong understanding of and experience using HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, and DOT's Policies and Procedures, including DOT policy manuals or similar documents

About the Role
As a Traffic Engineer, you will:
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate transportation engineering work, including traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting studies, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, signal timing studies, access management studies, intersection safety analyses, operational studies, and corridor studies
- Prepare engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major projects
- Produce engineering drawings based on applicable traffic industry calculations; check, interpret, and revise engineering drawings
- Prepare and review project plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates
- Prepare informational materials (e.g., project fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations) to communicate projects clearly to stakeholders and the public
- Supervise less experienced engineers and technical support personnel within a project team
- Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff
- Communicate and interact effectively with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate
- Prepare project scope, schedules, and budgets; assist in overall project management
