Description
NOW HIRING | Organic Chemist / Research Scientist
About the Role
BioTech Ventures is a US based custom synthesis laboratory and life sciences company focused on developing novel, research-only pharmacological active molecules for pre-clinical research.
Our work supports scientific research into mechanisms of neuroplasticity restoration and reward pathway regulation.
We are seeking a hands-on organic chemist to lead the computational and synthetic development work under the direct supervision of the Chief Scientific Officer.
The role involves heavy use of retrosynthesis tools, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling for activity prediction, synthesis of prioritized compounds, characterization, and generation of high-quality data to support research objectives.
This is a high-impact, research-intensive position focused on advancing novel platform development through computational design and hands-on synthesis.
This is a unique opportunity to combine molecular design, QSAR modeling, and advanced organic synthesis to help advance a novel research platform.
Position Highlights
Scottsdale, AZ (Mayo Clinic Scottsdale Campus)
Full-Time Contractor (3–6 months with potential full-time conversion)
$65–$75/hour (DOE)
Immediate Opening
What You'll Do
• Utilize retrosynthesis software to design and optimize synthetic routes
• Perform QSAR modeling and computational compound prioritization
• Execute multi-step organic synthesis
• Characterize compounds using NMR, MS, and HPLC
• Prepare samples for downstream in vitro research
• Collaborate directly with the Chief Scientific Officer
• Maintain high-quality research documentation and laboratory compliance
Qualifications
PhD in Organic Chemistry preferred (exceptional MS candidates with 5+ years of relevant industry experience will be considered)
Strong background in multi-step synthesis, purification, and characterization
