Islamorada, Village of Islands – Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated swim coach to lead and grow our Masters Swim Program at the Ron Levy Aquatic Center.

This role is ideal for someone who is not only passionate about coaching, but also driven to build participation, expand programming, and create a thriving, engaged swim community. If you enjoy both coaching and developing a program, this is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead & Inspire: Coach adult swimmers (18+) of all ability levels, from beginners to competitive athletes
• Drive Program Growth: Take primary responsibility for increasing participation through outreach, marketing, and community engagement.
• Design Dynamic Workouts: Create engaging, well-structured practices, including adult learn-to-swim programming
• Develop Technique: Provide individualized stroke instruction and feedback
• Build Community: Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating team environment that encourages retention.
• Support Success: Help swimmers set and achieve personal goals—whether for fitness or competition
• Deliver Great Service: Ensure consistently positive and professional participant experience 

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for coaching and growing a program to include conducting swim meets, camps, clinics, private and developmental lessons, and special event.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with marketing, outreach, or program development (highly desirable)
• Experience coaching swimmers of varying ability levels (preferred)
• Background in swimming and knowledge of competitive techniques

Certifications:   

• U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) Coach Certification;
• ASCA Level 2 Coach Certification; or
• A comparable coaching certification

Requirements:

• Level 2 background screening
• Agreement to the Village’s Instructional Services Agreement (1099 Independent Contractor)
• Personal liability insurance
