Job DescriptionThe Lead Field Service Technician is responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and related low-voltage systems. This role serves as the technical lead for field operations, providing guidance to technicians, ensuring quality workmanship, and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with company and industry standards.
You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Indianapolis, IN location on an On-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the security and safety of our customers by ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access control and CCTV systems. Your leadership and technical skills will help optimize service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor field technicians on installation and service projects.
- Install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and low-voltage security systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical and network-related issues.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers on-site.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company standards.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.
- Support emergency service calls and after-hours troubleshooting when required.
Additional Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at varying heights in both indoor and outdoor environments. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods, safely operate hand and power tools, and work in confined spaces or areas above ceilings and below floors as needed.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- 5 or more years of experience installing and servicing electronic security systems.
- 5 or more years of strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems, including system configuration, software installation, troubleshooting, and basic network connectivity support.
- Experience leading technicians or acting as a technical lead.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
