Description
The Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic repairs, overhauls, and maintains vehicles and equipment of all kinds pertaining to diesel transit buses, associated transportation vehicles, and equipment owned by USF Parking & Transportation Services.\n
Parking and Transportation Services, a division the University of South Florida's Administrative Services department is responsible for the overall management of the Bull Runner Transit System and parking facilities and services. Full time position $23.08 - $24.82 per hour ($48,000 - $51,625 annual)Minimum Qualifications: This position requires completion of an apprenticeship in automotive repair, or a high
\n school diploma/GED and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may
\n substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Electronic Experience; ASE Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis & ASE Transit bus

Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
Realigns and rebuilds brake systems, aligns front ends, replaces shock absorbers, and repairs radiators.
Submits requests for new parts and equipment needed to repair vehicles and equipment.
Performs welding on engines, frames, and bodies of vehicles and equipment.
Performs general repairs and maintenance in and around work area.
Performs additional related duties as needed.
