The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full-time academic Anatomic Pathologist with subspecialty expertise in Genitourinary/Surgical Pathology/ Renal Pathology. This is an open-rank faculty position, rank and tenure will be commensurate with candidate's experience, qualifications, and funding.

Duties & Responsibilities

      This position involves providing expertise in areas of oncologic and non-oncologic GU pathology and medical renal pathology, supporting the mission of the Department as well other clinical departments such as Urology, Nephrology and Transplant surgery. 

      Opportunities exist to participate and collaborate on other sub-specialty diagnostic services, such as molecular pathology, digital pathology, HLA and transfusion medicine and informatics. 

      Academic appointments necessitate participation in UME and GME activities and participation in institutional, regional, and national conferences. 

      High commitment to excellence in clinical service with outstanding communication skills is essential. Research opportunities include collaboration with Departments of Urology, Nephrology, Transplant medicine and Transplant surgery. 

Requirements

Candidates for this position must have an MD or MD/PhD degree, qualify for a license to practice medicine in Illinois, and possess board certification in anatomical pathology. Fellowship training in GU or Renal Pathology or General Surgical Pathology with an emphasis on Renal/GU pathology is desirable.
