With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA is the largest owner of top 4 network affiliates in the top 25 markets among independent station groups, reaching approximately 39 percent of all television households nationwide. TEGNA also owns leading multicast networks True Crime Network, Twist and Quest. TEGNA also offers innovative solutions to help businesses reach consumers across television, digital and over-the-top (OTT) platforms, including Premion, TEGNA’s OTT advertising service.

We offer comprehensive health and wellness coverage that ensures our employees have the care and coverage they need to stay healthy, build current and future financial security and maintain work-life balance. All full- and part-time employees (who work 20 or more hours per week) and their dependents are eligible to enroll in our benefits.
Health and Medicine
Our employees say that our medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance benefits are some of the best in the media industry because they offer competitiveness, affordability and choice. TEGNA offers two benefit plans designed to support you during the moments that matter most. In addition, our benefit options give employees the flexibility to choose any combination of medical, dental and/or vision plan coverage categories, and comply with federally mandated requirements to ensure cost transparency.
Depending on the medical plan chosen, employees can contribute towards a Health Savings Account (HSA) to which the company contributes up to $1,000, depending on the type of coverage chosen.
In today’s mobile world, having access to healthcare on-the-go is important. Through Teladoc, employees have 24/7 access to on-demand board-certified doctors and clinicians for non-emergency or general medical care who are available through video, phone or mobile app.
Employee Assistance and Mental Health
TEGNA offers a comprehensive wellness program that provides employees with enhanced mental health and wellness benefits through Spring Health. In addition to mental health support, Spring Health also provides access to a broad network of resources to meet legal, financial, dependent and other care needs.
Parental, Maternity and Adoption Leave
Adding to your family is a life-changing event! Whether giving birth, adopting or fostering a child, all new parents receive at least six weeks paid parental leave to focus on their growing family. Women who give birth can take a minimum of 12 weeks maternity leave paid at 100 percent. For 2022, we are expanding our adoption reimbursement from $2,500 to $10,000 and introducing a surrogacy reimbursement benefit of $10,000 to support every path to parenthood and provide coverage for employees’ family planning goals.
Retirement
The TEGNA 401(k) Savings Plan helps employees save now so they can experience financial security in the future. All employees (including part-time and temporary employees) can participate in the company-matched 401(k) Savings Plan and are 100 percent vested in the plan upon enrollment.
Paid Time Off and Company Holidays
Time away from the office is an important benefit that gives employees the opportunity to relax and refresh both mentally and physically. Our paid time off program includes all leave types such as vacation, sick, personal days and floating holidays.

All employees can manage family needs while balancing work through a TEGNA-sponsored membership to Care@Work by Care.com. Whether managing distance learning, hiring a babysitter, tutor or nanny, pets who could use some mid-day love or assisting an aging loved one, employees have flexibility and peace of mind knowing that they have a back-up plan when they need it.
Life and Supplemental Insurance
We also provide basic life insurance coverage and give employees the option to purchase supplemental coverage for themselves and their dependents. Employees can also purchase Accident and Critical Illness Insurance coverage.
Income Protection Plan
Life happens and we want to help employees prepare for the unexpected. Using a combination of short- and long-term disability coverage, employees can continue their benefits should they become unable to work due to medical reasons. These are automatically provided to employees that meet eligibility criteria, and there is also an option to purchase additional long-term disability coverage.
