Key Responsibilities:
Lead the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closing.
Define project scope, objectives, and resource allocation in collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues, communicating status and solutions to all relevant parties.
Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring all financial targets are met.
Facilitate regular meetings and communicate progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Provide guidance and mentorship to other project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Gather and synthesize business project requirements into actionable project tasks and deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and practices.
Ensure all project deliverables adhere to organizational policies, governance procedures, and quality standards.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience: 5–10 years of progressive experience as an IT Project Manager, with a proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-level projects.
Project Management Methodologies: Extensive experience with project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience managing technical projects involving application development, system implementation, and cloud migration.
Requirements analysis: Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex business needs and translating them into clear, concise, and actionable project requirements.
Documentation and artifacts: Strong skill in producing and managing comprehensive project artifacts, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Requirements prioritization: Ability to facilitate prioritization exercises with stakeholders using techniques like MoSCoW (Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, Won't Have) to ensure alignment with business goals.
Change management: Experience with establishing and managing a formal change control process for requirements, effectively assessing the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and budget.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership: Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities and navigate project challenges effectively.
Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard project management software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Asana).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master).
Higher Education: Master's degree in a relevant field, such as an MBA or IT Management.
Domain Expertise: Experience in research & development, government contracting, and/or highly regulated industry domains.
