Position Title: Pharmacy Practice/Pharmacy Administration Faculty (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor)

Larkin University (LU) College of Pharmacy (COP) is seeking full-time pharmacy practice and pharmacy administration faculty for the Department of Clinical and Administrative Sciences. The faculty will have responsibilities in different aspects of pharmacy academia, including but not limited to didactic teaching, clinical practice with experiential education of students, patient care lab teaching, research, student mentoring, and service to the institution and profession as applicable. Faculty will be expected to actively participate in assigned course activities and committees, as well as attend and contribute to scheduled Departmental, College, and Larkin University faculty meetings. As scholarship is an integral component of faculty life, all Departmental faculty are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship. Clinical Practice Faculty will be expected to contribute to the patient care and service missions of their assigned clinical practice site.

LUCOP’s accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is an integrated-block, three-year curriculum. LU is a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) university and consists of the College of Pharmacy, College of Biomedical Sciences, and School of Physician Assistant Studies. General Responsibilities of All Faculty:

• Work closely with the Dean and Department Chair in ensuring the integrity of the University and the College of Pharmacy are in line with the founding principles, values, mission, and goals;
• Ensure the development, furtherance, and improvement of curriculum and educational assessment tools;
• Be available to coordinate and teach assigned courses and classes at an appointed time;
• Work with Department Chair to formulate a strategy to develop and sustain a research program in a specialty area;
• Maintain a productive output of scholarly contributions, such as peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, and mentor LU students in research endeavors;
• Disseminate knowledge by scholarly presentation at appropriate scientific and academic platforms;
• Participate in research mentoring programs and outreach activities promoted by the department, college, or university.
• Assist in activities related to program accreditation by various national, regional, state, and other accreditation and regulatory agencies;
• Serve on various College of Pharmacy/University committees and advise LU student chapters of professional organizations as assigned.
• Participate in mentoring/advising of students;
• Represent the Department, College, and University to external institutions, organizations and agencies;
• Promote collegiality, professional and ethical behaviors; and
• Perform other duties as requested by the Chair and/or Dean

1) Pharmacy Practice Faculty Responsibilities (Position Code: DCAS-001)

• Develop an active clinical practice site that facilitates high quality experiential education and scholarship;
• Develop and deliver experiential education rotations as assigned by the Department Chair and in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education;
• Work with Department Chair and practice site liaison to facilitate training and mentoring of post-doctoral trainees (e.g., PGY-1,2 residents) at their clinical practice site;
• Work with Department Chair and practice site liaison to facilitate participation in assigned committees at their clinical practice site;
• Work with Department Chair and Experiential Education Office to facilitate preceptor training and mentoring at their clinical practice site;

Job Requirements for Pharmacy Practice Faculty:

The successful candidates shall have a PharmD with residency and/or fellowship training (or equivalent clinical practice experience) and be licensed/eligible for Florida licensure. Many different potential practice sites are available, including our partner teaching hospitals and clinics. All specialties will be considered and are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to candidates with specialization in the areas of infectious disease, psychiatry, internal medicine, or ambulatory care. This position is open to all candidates authorized to work in the United States.

2) Pharmacy Administration Faculty Responsibilities (Position Code: DCAS-002)

• Develop and teach courses in PharmD curriculum in the areas of health systems, pharmacy management, pharmacoeconomics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, and social/administrative sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Contribute to the development and instruction of courses in our upcoming graduate program in social and administrative sciences.
• Work collaboratively with faculty to advance practice-focused, patient-centered, and outcomes-driven research.
• Mentor and advise students, fostering their academic, professional, and research development.

Job Requirement for Pharmacy Administration Faculty:

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in Pharmacy Administration, Health Economics, Social and Administrative Sciences, or a closely related discipline. Applicants with doctoral degrees complemented by relevant fellowship training or professional experience will also be considered. A background in pharmacy is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, supported by evidence of scholarly productivity and potential for securing extramural funding. Previous teaching experience in pharmacy or related health sciences programs is highly desirable, along with a record of collaboration, service, and active professional engagement.
