WELDER IIIOverview:
Maxim Watermakers, a Fairbanks Morse Defense company is seeking an experienced Welder III to join our dynamic team. We specialize in developing water treatment technologies that meet the needs of the industry, providing solutions for water-related needs both offshore and onshore. Our products include freshwater generators and equipment for the US Navy, utilizing heat recovery evaporators and reverse osmosis desalination systems.
Scope of Work
- Structural and pipe welding
- Meet defined production schedules.
- Work on special projects as required.
Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in Welding and Fitting trade
Major Responsibilities
- Building welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards
- Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
- Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs
- Arranging of parts for welding and staging processes
- Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements
- Review of finish assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings & BOMs
- Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required
- Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required
- Perform other duties as requested by the department manager
Skills Required
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- TIG welding copper nickel, stainless steel and Monel
- Some MIG and stick welding.
- Having tested and qualified to 6G position is a plus.
- Strong desire and ability to learn advanced skills.
- Attention to detail and the desire to perform high quality work.
- Read weld procedures and quality procedures.
- Cross training with other skills
Additional Information:
This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is not releasable to foreign nationals (NOFORN). Proof of US citizenship is required (e.g., US Passport, Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate).
