Description

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems used in wastewater treatment operations. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and reliably to support compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. The Mechanic will work closely with operational staff to minimize downtime and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
o Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, and piping systems.
o Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
System Troubleshooting:
o Identify and resolve mechanical issues affecting plant operations.
o Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to address complex system failures.
Installation & Upgrades:
o Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
o Recommend upgrades or replacements to improve operational efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
o Provide reports on equipment performance and reliability to the management team.
Safety & Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
o Ensure mechanical systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Inventory Management:
o Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure timely availability for repairs.
o Assist in procuring necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
Training & Support:
o Provide guidance to operators on proper equipment use and care.
o Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and practices.
Additional Duties:
o Support special projects, such as facility upgrades or emergency repairs.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
