The Vice President Product Strategy Healthcare Solutions will work closely with senior leadership, sales and operational teams to identify customer needs and market opportunities and translate them into market leading products. This individual will play a lead role in shaping our Healthcare Solutions product roadmap and expanding our product portfolio to drive innovation and revenue growth and expand Paradigm Healthcare Solutions reach into new markets. The Vice President Product Strategy will evaluate existing product performance to develop enhancements that drive continuous improvement.
Success in this position requires someone with a passion for tackling the challenges facing our current healthcare system and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple levels to engage in strategic, big picture thinking; analytical, structured problem solving; and practical operational design and delivery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the product management team/function for the Healthcare Solutions business unit.
- Lead the member engagement team to design and execute member engagement strategy and services.
- Work with the Healthcare Solutions leadership team to identify the priorities and product roadmap.
- Monitor and respond to evolving client needs, state and federal policy changes, and the competitive landscape.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define product requirements and to develop and implement processes, tools, systems specifications and business/pricing models to support new offerings.
- Manage product performance in market to ensure they are performing as desired by monitoring key metrics and having collaborative discussions with key business partners.
- Report product performance and strategy to key customers including on governance calls and with senior leadership.
- Coordinate and oversee research, validation and synthesis of market pain points and needs through customer and competitive analysis.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business drivers for target market segments and monitor and refine critical market assumptions and implications for product development (e.g. unmet customer needs, customer requirements, competing and complementary solutions).
- Assist in making strategic decisions regarding when to build, partner, license or contract with other entities to deliver new offerings.
- Manage pilot projects to test and evolve solution features and processes, from concept to implementation and measurement.
- Develop and test methods of measuring and evaluating new offerings, working closely with Paradigm's internal and external analytics experts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mentor, train, and supervise team members directly and indirectly, review their work and provide effective constructive feedback.
- Provide strategic guidance and act as a point of escalation for Healthcare Solutions product management activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion.
- Ensure all team members understand, are trained in, and comply with Paradigm's security requirements and policies.
- Ensure all team members have the minimum level of IT system access required to effectively complete their Paradigm responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- BA/BS in Liberal Arts, Business, Healthcare or other related field required
- MA/MS in Business, Healthcare or other related field preferred
Experience
- 10+ years' experience in product management with most or all of this experience in the healthcare industry.
- 5+ years of experience in product strategy and management. The candidate should have demonstrated success developing, implementing and/or running new solutions for the health services sector. Experience with accountable care, alternative payment models, population health and/or complex and post-acute care a plus.
Skills & Attributes
- Deep understanding of commercial or government-sponsored health insurance and delivery.
- The ability to gather, synthesize and communicate stakeholder pain points, needs and implications for product features. Can facilitate the definition of new capabilities and services in partnership with providers, payers and care management teams.
- Demonstrated experience translating requirements into scalable process designs and prototypes, including workflows, job designs, communication and reporting tools, etc.
- Intellectual curiosity and an ability to view old problems with a fresh perspective; an entrepreneurial mindset feared towed the creation, execution and continuous improvement of a new care management model.
- Excellent project management skills including demonstrated success in guiding projects from concept to implementation and measurement. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at once.
- Effective collaboration skills, including the ability to work with payer, provider and internal staff across organizational levels and settings. Leadership experience in a cross-functional environment where strong influencing and relationship building have been demonstrated.
- Superior written and oral communication skills; able to tell a clear story with data and develop clean, effective presentations.
- Passionate about the goal of improve the healthcare experience in the US.
