Hillside Veterinary Clinic is looking for Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

Job Summary:
The Veterinary Technician Supervisor oversees all Veterinary Technician staff at the practice by providing clinical guidance, staffing overview, and training. They work directly with the Practice Manager to ensure the hospital provides exceptional patient care through a well-trained team of technicians and up-to-date clinical protocols.
The ideal candidate:
- Manage all technical staff, ensuring a high quantity and quality of patient care and medical support to veterinarians
- Act as a role model in demonstrating hospital values
- Collaborate with the hospital management, associate veterinarians, and/or other supervisors to foster teamwork and facilitate a productive, professional working environment.
- Demonstrate leadership characteristics
- Display a commitment to developing both supervisory and staff's skills
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Understands and consistently applies policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operation of the technical support staff
- Provides appropriate level of staffing for both client and internal customer needs by creating schedules to fit the hospital’s needs.
- Must be able to effectively assign work to appropriate Certified Veterinary Technicians within the team concept. Interact with support staff, front desk, and kennel to ensure the best possible level of care for the pets
- Facilitates the effective handling of all staff complaints, processing and follow up, verbal and written
- Must become proficient in hospitals, procedures, fees, and computer information systems.
- Accurately handling and recording controlled drugs
- Serves as a role model and team leader to enhance overall team function. Interacts professionally with all staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a veterinary technician
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT)
- Must be well organized and able to multi-task effectively
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
- Broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry
- Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours, overtime, and on-call for emergencies
