Description
The Dog Handler & Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and happiness of dogs in our care while delivering excellent customer service to their owners. This dual role includes hands-on animal care, maintaining a clean and safe facility, assisting with check-ins/check-outs, scheduling appointments, and processing payments. The position requires a friendly, professional demeanor and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Dog Handling & Care: Monitor group play and individual dogs for behavior, safety, and health concerns; safely handle and move dogs of all sizes using low-stress techniques.
Provide food, water, and medications per instructions; record observations and promptly report any issues to management or veterinary staff. Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, and equipment; maintain a clean environment. Assist with bathing as needed.
Customer Service: Greet clients warmly and check dogs in and out for daycare, boarding, bathing, and veterinary services. Answer phones, respond to emails/texts, schedule appointments, and provide information on services, requirements, and policies. Process invoices, collect payments, and accurately reconcile daily transactions.
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in animal care, veterinary, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
Strong communication skills with a focus on compassion and professionalism.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy, physically active environment.
Basic math skills and comfort with computers/POS systems.
Pay rate: $18-$19 per hour, depending on experience.
Part-Time
Available weekends and holidays
