Join our dynamic Cardiology team at High Point Medical Center, as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist.
What You Will Do:
Vascular Ultrasound Techs assist in vascular studies and perform procedures, employing age-appropriate techniques and equipment in accordance with accepted practice standards. They demonstrate expertise in minimizing exposure for both patients and healthcare team members.

- Shift Schedule:Full-Time, day shift,8a-5p

What You'll Need:
- Graduate of an accredited vascular ultrasound program required; Associate's Degree or completion of a 2-year approved Vascular Ultrasound Program Preferred
- 2 years of Noninvasive Lab Testing Preferred
- Registered & Certified with ARDMS or RVT
- Completion of 1-week sterile technique training course to be provided by the OR education coordinator upon hire.
- Valid CPR Certification Required - BLS
- Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining daily schedules and communicates professionally with medical staff, while prioritizing patient care needs based on clinical expertise.
Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Competency and Accreditation: Demonstrates full competency in peripheral vascular studies, maintains daily schedules, and ensures lab accreditation.
- Patient Education and Data Quality: Provides age-specific patient education, operates lab equipment competently to minimize repeat studies, and accurately distinguishes normal from abnormal data.
- Clinical Data and Reporting: Reviews patient history, assesses appropriate information, and documents findings accurately. Writes clear preliminary reports, ensuring immediate notification for necessary medical treatment.
- Efficient Scheduling and Equipment Maintenance: Coordinates work schedules efficiently, both outpatient and inpatient, with no reported delays. Maintains lab accreditation records and equipment cleanliness, promptly addressing equipment issues.
- Effective Communication and Professionalism: Contacts physicians for clarification as needed, upholds professional relationships, practices teamwork, and adheres to department rules and Standards of Behavior.
- Continuous Learning and Miscellaneous Duties: Completes necessary continuing education, performs other assigned duties as directed by management.
The Vascular Ultrasound work environment is a combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings, featuring well-lit, well-ventilated spaces with ample room, but it entails regular exposure to diseases, medicinal preparations, and typical clinic conditions.
