- Transfer Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist
Description
The Transfer Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist plays a critical role in the University of West Alabama's efforts to attract, support, and enroll transfer students. This position focuses on building relationships with community colleges and other institutions, providing prospective transfer students with essential information and personalized guidance throughout the admissions process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a dedicated representative of UWA at community colleges, transfer fairs, and other transfer-specific recruitment events.
- Conduct outreach and assist in establishing partnerships with community college advisors, faculty, and administrators to promote transfer pathways to UWA.
- Provide detailed information to prospective transfer students, families, and counselors about academic programs, credit transfer processes, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and campus life.
- Conduct personalized campus visits for prospective transfer students.
- Follow up with transfer prospects and applicants to ensure a seamless admissions and enrollment experience.
- Analyze transfer student data and trends to develop targeted recruitment strategies aligned with institutional goals.
- Collaborate closely with Financial Aid, Registrar, Academic Departments, and other campus units to support the unique needs of transfer students.
- Assist in the creation and evaluation of marketing and outreach materials tailored to transfer audiences.
- Participate in all Admissions-sponsored events and programs, with a particular focus on improving services and outreach for transfer populations.
- Work closely with the other members of the Office of Student Recruitment Team to assist with all assigned activities related to the recruitment of new students.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Recruitment or other designated administrators.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
- Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional demeanor with a high level of energy and initiative.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience working with or recruiting transfer students.
- Knowledge of transfer credit evaluation processes.
- Background in public relations, marketing, or student services.
- Experience designing and developing marketing materials.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague student information system.
- Experience with Slate CRM.
