Job DescriptionJob Description:
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine seeks to recruit 3 additional board certified/eligible dermatologists to our faculty. The positions available are as follows:
(1) General Medical Dermatology: The successful candidate will join our Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and provide patient care and education within our residency training program. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest both in practicing and teaching general dermatology, and in developing a subspecialty focus in dermatology. Particular areas of subspecialty interest include inpatient consultative dermatology, complex medical dermatology, and/or dermatology of skin of color. A commitment to resident education is necessary.
(2) Oncologic Dermatology: This position is for a dermatologist with an interest in developing a clinical research program in cutaneous oncology or the interface between dermatology and acute cancer care and/or leading clinical trials in cutaneous oncology. Protected time will be available to develop research interests. Candidates with active Federal research funding will be considered for the Shapiro Endowed Professorship in Dermatology.
(3) Chief of VA Dermatology: a dual-appointment, full-time faculty position is available for the position of Chief of VA Dermatology, VA Maryland Health Care System. This position, to include a 7/8ths VA commitment with a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, will be based at the Baltimore VAMC. This position includes the opportunity to lead a diverse staff of dermatologists, to guide resident education at the Baltimore VAMC, and to develop a research program supported by VA's Office of Research & Development.

Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate's qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
