- Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Computational Chemistry
Description
The Department of Chemistry at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in Fall 2026. We seek to hire an outstanding scholar with research and teaching interests in the area of Computational Chemistry. Applicants with expertise in machine learning as it is applied in chemistry (broadly defined) are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate will be expected to build a research program that involves both PhD students and undergraduates, and is able to attract external funding. While the specific research area is open, it should complement existing efforts in the department. Candidates will be expected to teach introductory and upper-level undergraduate Chemistry courses as well as graduate courses in their area of expertise. We encourage applications from candidates committed to high-quality scholarship and instruction, and support of a diverse student population. The Chemistry department is a community committed to equitable and inclusive research and teaching practices, and aspires to be a place where individuals of all backgrounds can thrive.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, and postdoctoral training or the equivalent is desirable.
To apply, candidates should submit a single PDF document that includes (1) a curriculum vitae, (2) a description of research plans, and (3) a statement of teaching and mentoring philosophy, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent. Application materials should be submitted through Interfolio. Full consideration will be given to complete applications that arrive before November 1, 2025.
