- Systems Support Analyst
Description
The Systems Support Analyst plays a key role in maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of client environments for Lodestar Technologies. This position is responsible for the daily monitoring of applications, databases, and operating systems, ensuring that any issues are identified and resolved quickly to minimize client impact. The role includes reviewing and correcting log file errors, installing software patches and releases, and providing client-facing support. The analyst will work closely with the Systems Team to ensure reliable operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring and support processes.

Requirements
- Daily Environment Monitoring
- Monitor client application and database environments to ensure functionality, availability, and performance.
- Perform daily log reviews, troubleshoot issues, and proactively resolve errors.
- Track and escalate recurring problems to the Senior Systems Engineer for root cause analysis.
- Release & Patch Management
- Support the installation and validation of application releases, upgrades, and patches.
- Coordinate downtime windows with clients where necessary.
- Document update and deployment steps for repeatable processes.
- Client-Facing Support
- Serve as a first-line technical contact for clients on environment-related issues.
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding incidents, resolutions, and planned maintenance.
- Build strong relationships with client IT teams by providing reliable, knowledgeable support.
- Systems Operations
- Perform routine system checks and maintenance on Windows Server operating systems.
- Collaborate with the Systems Team on improvements to monitoring, alerting, and automation.
- Participate in on-call or adjusted schedules, including weekend coverage, to support client uptime requirements.
- Database & Analytics Application Support
- Provide basic support for monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database environments (experience is an asset).
- Provide basic support for analytics application environments, escalating complex issues to senior team members.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration (service management, patching, log review, system monitoring).
- Familiarity with application operations (deployments, troubleshooting, log checks).
- Experience reviewing and analyzing log files to identify and correct errors.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, to align with client requirements.
- Highly organized with strong documentation and process discipline.
