Regional School Unit 71 (RSU 71), serving the coastal communities of Belfast, Belmont, Morrill, Searsmont, and Swanville, is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Schools. 

Nestled in Mid-coast Maine, RSU 71 is located in a region known for its strong community spirit, natural beauty, and rich cultural life. Families, educators, and community partners work closely together to ensure that every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities. 

RSU 71 is home to four elementary schools, serving 1,368 students, located across its five towns, creating strong community connections at the earliest levels of learning. Students then come together at Troy A. Howard Middle School and Belfast Area High School, both located in Belfast, ensuring a cohesive pathway to graduation. 

The district has a proud history of providing outstanding educational programs that support academic excellence, innovation, and the well-being of all students. The collaboration of five towns working together reflects a shared commitment to student success and community pride.
