Description
The Office of Academic Affairs at Indiana University Northwest seeks qualified candidates for a full-time position of Student Success Coordinator (Student Services Generalist).Indiana University Northwest (IUN) proudly serves the most ethnically and economically diverse area of the state. The successful candidate will enhance IUN's capacity to monitor the progress of initiatives across campus and coordinate activities with the IU Northwest Student Success Center to improve the efficacy of initiatives and scale successful projects. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running, with previous experience working in student success at the college level.
Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Student Success and is under the direction of the Project Director.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Assists with administrative tasks related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various student success initiatives, including the Student Success Center.
- Serves as a liaison to campus stakeholders for cross-departmental student success initiatives, providing information, securing space reservations, scheduling planning meetings, and providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Maintains an internal website and works with IUN's Office of Marketing and Communications to facilitate communication strategies.
- Assists with the development of experiential learning opportunities with the support of local community organizations and affinity groups.
- Creates and maintains a Resources Hub and coordinates activities with faculty and existing student support; supports services in counseling, advising, tutoring, mentoring, and career services to maximize resources and achieve project goals.
- Provides specific programming and services in support of IU Northwest's INVEST (INspiring, Valuing, and Empowering Success Together) initiative focused on undergraduate student engagement and persistence.
- Interacts with students, community, employers, faculty, and various campus committees.
- Develops, implements, administers, and tracks results for programs and events managed through the Student Success Center.
- Develops and implements programs and initiatives that address various student-related goals, including enhancing and reinforcing academic engagement and experiential learning, increasing student engagement, wellness, and involvement, fostering education, inclusion, and development, supporting students experiencing adversity, and improving the overall student experience on campus.
- Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on shared student services goals, including coordinating funding to sponsor student programs and initiatives.
- Projects outcomes for services offered at the program, department/division, or campus level. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of student services against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on the impact on students and the budget, and may present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.
- Serves on committees and performs student services research across the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices.
- Plans and coordinates communications for student services initiatives to ensure student participation and engagement.
- May guide other student services staff and make process recommendations to the manager for improved service delivery.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in higher education student affairs, public affairs, counseling, social work, education, business, or related field
- Master's degree in a related field

- 2 years in student services, higher education, or a related field
- Experience or familiarity with assisting students with navigating social services and/or financial resources

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional Information
This position is grant-funded with expected annual renewals. Renewals are contingent on the availability of grant funds. A federal grant under the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program-Title V supports it.

$44,000.00 - $47,000 annually
