About This Role
The Student Success Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Dean of Student Success and all functions within the Center for Academic and Student Success (CASS). Key responsibilities include administrative support, coordination of activities within CASS, and technology support. Strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
What Youll Do
1. Administrative Support
- Assist the Dean of Student Success with processing of budget/finance items, managing meetings and other calendar events, submitting service requests (room reservations, ITS, facilities), and preparing reports.
- Respond to emails and phone calls, providing prompt and accurate assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and troubleshoot issues as needed.
2. CASS Coordination
- Support CASS with planning and coordination of center-wide activities.
- Organize CASS meetings and events, including but not limited to scheduling, evaluation, and assessment.
- Support goals alignment and data collection across CASS, ensuring that initiatives are connected to institutional goals and that appropriate metrics are measured (including learning outcomes).
- Coordinate with the CASS team on policies and procedures, both internal and external; connect with web management team for relevant updates and enhancements to the HCCC website.
- Organize and maintain a digital database of all pertinent documents.
- Work independently on assigned projects or processes, including the planning and preparation of communications, events, records, reports, and documents.
3. Technology Support
- Serve as a Handshake manager, supporting review of employers, opportunities, and events and supporting the Dean of Student Success and Career and Transfer Pathways team with other administrative tasks in Handshake.
4. Other Duties as Assigned
- Collaborate with the Dean of Student Successs team on special projects and events as needed.
- Support additional administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Center for Academic and Student Success.
What Youll Need
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree required, Masters degree in Student Personnel/Counseling/Higher Education or related professional work experience preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in a college environment, office, or customer service position.
- Proficiency with various computer programs including Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and related software and social media applications.
- Proven leadership ability and well developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
