How you will contribute
You are an accomplished consultant with experience in Financial Services and a passion for helping clients solve their most complex challenges. Energized by transformation, you partner with senior executives across Wealth & Asset Management, Banking, and Financial Markets Infrastructure to unlock growth, enable innovation, and drive meaningful operational improvement. This is a hybrid role based in New York or Boston.
The work
- Lead or support project workstreams that deliver tangible impact for our clients.
- Develop and manage project plans, track progress, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Shape insights and client deliverables - either hands-on or by guiding junior team members - leveraging structured frameworks, analysis, and storytelling.
- Cultivate trusted client relationships through regular interaction and deep understanding of client priorities.
- Identify risks, manage project scope, and maintain momentum across fast-paced engagements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to influence decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of IP, methodologies, and practice-wide knowledge assets.
- Support business development efforts by drafting proposals, building capabilities, and helping design tailored client solutions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and innovation (AI, fintech, digital transformation) to inform client conversations.
- Provide informal coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategy consulting, ideally from a top-tier firm (MBB, Big 4 Strategy, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following industry areas:
- Wealth & Asset Management
- Banking
- Financial Markets Infrastructure (e.g., exchanges, custodians, data providers)
- Expertise across multiple of the following areas:
- Growth strategy and business model transformation
- Cost re-engineering and operational improvement
- M&A support: diligence, integration, carve-outs
- Pricing strategy and revenue optimization
- Technology and data modernization
- Innovation, AI, and digital transformation
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into structured insights.
- Strong communication skills and comfort interfacing with senior stakeholders.
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; able to build compelling, insight-driven narratives.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a strong plus.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $135,000 - $190,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
