- Solutions Strategist
Description
The Solutions Strategist will support the business development, structuring, and management of L&G, Asset Management investment strategies. The Solutions Strategist is the primary liaison between prospects/clients/consultants and L&G investment disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Investment Strategy:
- Develop and oversee prospect/client strategies to ensure they are optimized for prospect/client-specific investment objectives and constraints
- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of current investment market, economic issues, building block strategies, and L&G firm views, and in-depth specialist knowledge in product focus area (AFI, LDI, Private Credit, Multi-asset, Equity Solutions)
- This role will have a particular focus on our investment grade active fixed income offering
- Maintain a detailed understanding of market instruments applicable to the assigned clients/sectors
- Oversee development of systems for modeling/monitoring risk where appropriate
- Model the outcomes of different asset and derivative strategies to determine suitable investment strategies with an asset-liability context
- External Engagement:
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal leadership, investment consultants, clients and prospects
- Oversee periodic update of marketing collateral and actively participate in effort to create new material to commercialize L&G's active fixed income offering
- Identify and execute opportunities to expand and enhance strategic client partnerships where appropriate
- Communicate with client and its stakeholders on all areas of our partnership, including investment strategy, performance attribution, macroeconomic landscape and L&G firm structure via engagements
- Use technical expertise to explain the outcomes of analysis for prospecting engagements and with our consultant partners.
- Work with the prospect/client and L&G investment teams to adopt mutually acceptable investment guidelines
- Respond in timely, comprehensive manner to ad hoc prospect, client, consultant and third party requests related to the investment strategy
- Work closely with distribution, account management, and onboarding teams to establish and implement client mandates
- Thought Leadership:
- Partner with Investment teams to produce and publish research/white papers that demonstrate L&G thought leadership innovation and support our value proposition to the marketplace
- Produce written market commentary for (monthly, quarterly) dissemination to prospects/clients/consultants as appropriate (function specific)
- Represent L&G at conference speaking engagements where appropriate
- Partner with Product group where appropriate to facilitate and support new product development and launch
- Culture & Internal Engagement:
- Maintain and promote client centric solutions-focused culture
- Work collaboratively and constructively with L&G internal groups on a day-to-day basis
- Promote information sharing and leveraging new ideas and best practices across the firm
- Development and mentoring of colleagues
- Offering support and assistance to other Strategists
- Teamwork (own contributions and enhance contribution of others), including product management and contribution to the evolution of LGIMA’s product and solution offerings
Qualifications:
- Broad knowledge covering investment products, the pension industry, and corporate finance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter and team player
- 7+ years investment management experience
- Bachelor degree required, MBA and/or CFA preferred
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $140,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
