Join Chimes-and go further to help others go far.The Chimes School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join our multidisciplinary school team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by helping them build the social, emotional, and behavioral skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.As our School Social Worker, you will work closely with students, families, educators, and other professionals to identify individual needs, connect families with valuable resources, and develop interventions that support each student's educational and personal growth.Chimes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with intellectual, developmental, and behavioral challenges achieve their fullest potential. Through our educational, employment, residential, rehabilitative, and behavioral health services, we take a comprehensive approach to supporting the individuals and families we serve.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Provide individual and group social work services to students based on their unique needs and goals.
- Assess students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns.
- Conduct evaluations using interviews, observations, histories, checklists, functional assessments, and other appropriate assessment tools.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based intervention plans that support student success.
- Provide crisis intervention and support students in developing healthy coping strategies.
- Help students strengthen social-emotional skills, conflict-resolution abilities, and anger-management strategies.
- Develop interventions designed to improve academic engagement and success.
- Connect students and families with appropriate school, agency, and community resources.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute recommendations, goals, objectives, and appropriate services.
- Attend annual IEP meetings, 30-day reviews, internal planning meetings, and discharge meetings.
- Prepare and submit evaluations, progress documentation, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly.
- Support teachers and school personnel with classroom management strategies and student behavioral needs.
- Develop and provide staff training and in-service programs related to student social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Education
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Licensure
- Must possess a valid and current LCSW or LMSW license.
Experience
- At least 2 years of clinical social work experience.
- Experience working in a school or educational setting is strongly preferred.
