Pay Range: $19-$23/hr, based on experience
Job Summary: This role will operate a forklift, loading both van and flatbed trailers, for a tire recycling plant.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Greet drivers prior to loading trucks (flat beds and van trailers). Confirm pickup number with Drivers and provide instruction for loading
- Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines; continually check materials and orders to ensure accuracy
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Maintain fork truck by completing proper inspection and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department
- Maintain clean yard
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Load trucks, flatbeds, and/or containers
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Operate fork truck and/or loader to lift/transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience required
- 2-3+ years' experience performing a variety of shipping & administrative duties
- 12-months fork truck experience required
- Experience operating JCB telescopic forklift and various types of plant equipment (clamp truck, bobcat, loader) a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain a positive, polite and friendly demeanor during challenging situations
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities; proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
- Read and understand units of measure; ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
