Description
Are you a software visionary with a passion for high-performance computing? Celestica is looking for a talented and experienced Principal Engineer, Software to join our team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software that drives next-generation data center and AI compute blades, including GPUs, CPUs, and AI accelerators.
This isn't just a coding role; it's a leadership position where you'll architect innovative solutions, optimize performance, and mentor a team of engineers. You'll be at the forefront of hardware-software integration, bringing cutting-edge technology to life for our customers.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
As our Principal Engineer, you will drive the software strategy for our most advanced data center solutions. Your key responsibilities include:
- Software Development: Lead the design and implementation of low-level drivers and application software for next-generation CPUs and GPUs. You'll optimize code for performance and latency, and develop new software libraries for computing on GPUs.
- Hardware Integration & Validation: Take a leading role in board bring-up and validation, troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware-software interaction issues. You will be a key player in ensuring our hardware works seamlessly.
- Security & Innovation: Design and implement features for trusted software like secure boot. You will also innovate new solutions for data center efficiency, working closely with networking engineers.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a technical leader, mentoring and coaching team members. You will architect software applications for future technology generations and present your innovations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with engineers from different disciplines, as well as with customers and sales teams to define and deliver on requirements.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills We're Looking For
We're looking for a seasoned software engineer with a deep understanding of low-level programming and hardware. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in C, C++, or other low-level languages.
- Operating System Expertise: Experience with Linux kernel driver development, including knowledge of memory management and interrupts.
- Hardware Knowledge: Familiarity with main elements of CPU, DPU, memory, and NICs.
- Debugging & Problem-Solving: A proven ability to identify and resolve complex software and hardware issues.
- Data Center Experience: Prior experience with data center architectures and deployments is a strong plus.
- GPU Programming: Experience with GPU libraries like CUDA or ROCm is a huge plus.
- Experience: 12 to 18 years of related experience.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
