Description
The University of Missouri Physics Department is seeking a creative individual eager to expand their knowledge, skills and abilities in the machine shop. A strong attention to detail and commitment to safety are required for this position.
The Physics Machine Shop performs a wide variety of design & fabrication work for the University as well as various other research facilities nationally and abroad. The shop is well equipped with manual lathes, mills, surface grinder, and CNC machines.

Requirements
-Operate machine tools in a safe and efficient manner
-Work with a wide variety of materials and cutting tools
-Interpret drawings and blueprints accurately
-Use measuring instruments and perform quality control
-Program, setup, and operate CNC lathe and mill
-Use MasterCAM to make drawings and program CNC machines
-Use TIG welding to make leak tight joints
-Repair and maintain lab equipment
-Keep a clean and organized work area
