Position Description

We are looking for an industrials associate, based in Sydney, who will be responsible for providing support to the lead analyst. The position is primarily responsible for coordinating research activities (ie. updating industry and company models) and working with the senior analyst on research projects and client requests, including fundamental deep-dive research on industry and company thematics. An associate should view their role as an integral part of the team's success. Effective teamwork contributors; actively generate ideas for the teams development; communicate issues that require action; support each other and ask for help when needed.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Assist senior analysts on specific research projects
• Collect data and compile answers for clients requests
• Update and help develop financial models
• Maintain databases of economic and industry specific data
• Accompany clients on visits and produce notes
• Maintain sound working relationships with Corporates, Clients, the Government, and industry organisations
• Key Performance Indicators
• Quality and efficiency of work performed
• Relationships with sales, clients, corporates and external bodies

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above in business related discipline, preferably with finance and/or accounting major
• 2-5 years' experience as a research associate. Alternatively investment banking, accounting, wealth management background would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong understanding of financial modelling
• Strong excel/ spreadsheet skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure when required
• Excellent interpersonal sensitivity
• High sense of commercial awareness
• Excellent communication, relationship and management skills to both internal and external clients
