- Radiologic Technologist - Urgent Care
Description
The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner:
• Radiographers must demonstrate an understanding of the human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique.
• They must maintain knowledge of radiation protection and safety.
• Radiographers must remain sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills.
• Radiographers actively participate in a dual role while working in the clinical environment.
• Duties include but are not limited to patient registration, scheduling, clerical support, and customer service.
• Basic medical assistant duties may be performed by a radiologic technologist after training and competency are demonstrated.
• Medical assistant duties may include triaging patients under the direction and supervision of the provider.
• This includes functions such as obtaining height and weight, vital signs, and specific point of care testing.
