The Central Michigan University College of Medicine (CMED) is seeking a full-time, highly qualified physician faculty for a non-tenure track student health position in Psychiatry. This is a unique opportunity for physicians to provide psychiatric services through Student Health Services. This position assumes a role that will include clinical practice and committee service. This is an open rank position depending on credentials. The start date is negotiable. To be considered for this appointment, applicants are expected to demonstrate multidimensional qualifications in clinical practice and involvement in community based and regional initiatives focusing on mental health.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree.
- Certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association recognized clinical specialty.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan.
- Established credentials or developing potential in clinical practice.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
- Applicants applying for advanced rank should have a demonstrated record of teaching and an established area of scholarly activity.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
About the Department
Central Michigan University provides limited support services to assist students with emotional and psychological issues while on the CMU campus through the Student Health Services clinic. The faculty & staff at CMU support all students in their transition to and during their college experience. Not only does the University provide psychiatric services, but it also provides access to counselors through the Counseling Center.
As part of the Central Michigan University College of Medicine this position is responsible for assisting with the educational mission of the college through meaningful participation with the curriculum in area(s) of expertise.
