Description
Education & Experience- B.S. degree required (Microbiology strongly preferred)
- Experience with scheduling, workflow management, and inventory control.
- Preferred: Background in lab operations or scientific testing.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Able to work independently and cross-functionally.
Production & Scheduling
- Create and maintain schedules for testing and training across all shifts.
- Coordinate with Sales, SDs, and management to align testing timelines with client delivery expectations (including STATs and GLPs).
- Optimize scheduling to ensure adequate resources and minimize workflow disruptions.
- Forecast supply needs and manage media/supply inventory in coordination with relevant departments.
- Escalate and report production issues or delays to management as needed.
- Track and report production metrics aligned with business goals.
- Support area managers with training schedules tied to current test demands.
- May assist in cleaning sponsor samples to prepare for return, including opening jars of media.
- Ensure scheduling practices align with regulatory standards (GMP, GLP, ISO).
Operational Improvement
- Maintain and evolve value stream maps for lab processes.
- Analyze performance data to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist in identifying and implementing productivity improvements.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office and lab setting; occasional lab visits required.
- May involve handling and opening containers of media during sample cleaning.
- Primarily desk-based work with standard office equipment.
- Light physical activity; no heavy lifting over 50 lbs.
