OVERVIEW
The Production Manager is responsible for leading event production processes, ensuring seamless show operations, and executing the client’s vision with precision and creativity. This role oversees all aspects of assigned events, from planning through execution, while collaborating closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams. In partnership with the management team, the Production Manager also plays a key role in shaping and implementing organizational strategies, policies, and best practices that strengthen overall performance and client satisfaction.
Requirements
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review client RFPs/RFQs and generate accurate quotes, ensuring proposals are financially viable for the organization. Present proposals/quotes to clients and update them throughout the bid process.
- Coordinate all event logistics with the Metro Multimedia operations team and external partners (e.g., venues, subcontracted vendors, Fire Marshals) to ensure CAD, equipment, trucking, and labor requirements are executed successfully throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee procurement and implementation of equipment and technologies to ensure efficiency and reliability on every project.
- Prepare and maintain financial health reports (MAPS) for each project, sharing updates regularly with the finance team and General Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the organization’s mission by improving operational systems, processes, and policies—enhancing reporting, information flow, business processes, and organizational planning.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning, with a focus on advancing production and account management excellence.
- Develop and manage annual productivity improvement initiatives for key accounts to drive efficiency and client satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES BY FUNCTION
Financial Management
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process for key accounts.
- Develop and manage annual productivity improvement initiatives related to key accounts.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organizational financial performance against budgets, operational goals, and projections.
- Manage short- and long-term financial and managerial reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Ensure timely resolution of Accounting Department requests and communicate outcomes effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to long-range financial forecasting and maintain multi-year financial plans.
- Prepare for annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors and external financial vendors.
Organizational Effectiveness / Leadership
- Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (e.g., production coordination, exhibitor sales, and related functions).
- Execute existing long-term organizational strategies with precision and accountability.
- Lead initiatives that drive organizational growth and contribute to long-term operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the audio-visual industry.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams, large-scale projects, and/or key initiatives.
- Strong background in budget development, financial oversight, and project cost management.
- Collaborative leader with excellent people management skills, open to feedback and direction, and committed to executing the client’s vision with the highest quality standards.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong focus on customer service.
- Skilled in challenging ideas and fostering debate on key organizational issues with creativity and strategic insight.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively and manage multiple priorities.

- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, production management, and account management, with experience implementing industry best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with A/V production software (e.g., Flex)
- Experience with drafting software (CAD, Vectorworks)
- CTS Certification (Certified Technology Specialist)
- Knowledge of event rigging practices and safety
- Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred

Flexibility to work weekends and event show hours as needed
