This position is in Cargill's animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.
Job Purpose and Impact
We are looking for a Poultry Animal Care Technician primarily responsible for the execution of approved protocols for animal studies in a safe, accurate and timely fashion! You will conduct research trials with collecting data that includes animal weighing, feeding, and various types of samplings. You will also be responsible for providing standard animal husbandry and housekeeping duties.
Key Accountabilities
• Basic building and equipment maintenance and troubling shooting.
• Contribute to continuous evaluation and improvement of experimental methodology, daily routines and procedures.
• Maintain safe working conditions according to our safety program and meeting animal welfare standards in accordance with animal policies.
• Execute predefined protocols and standard operating procedures, like feeding, sample collection, animal observation, disease recognition and compile accurate data, observations/deviations and trial quality measurement on time and in scope.
• Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned
Position information:
- Relocation assistance will be provided for this position.
- This position is based in Elk River,MN.
- Work schedule: M- F: Dayshift 6 - 2:30pm or 7- 3:30pm , working one weekend every 4th week and two holidays per year.
The expected salary for this position is $24.00- $28.00 hourly rate. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
• Minimum of four years of related work experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Must be able to work in cold, hot, humid dirty, dusty environment
• Excellent arm, hand and leg motor skills: bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, stairs, sampling
• Must be able to wear a respirator as required.
• Able and willing to work 1 weekend every 4 weeks and 2 holidays per year.
• Proficient computer skills
• Experience working with poultry
Preferred Qualifications
• Secondary education in a related field.
• Experience working in a research setting
