Description
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Pilot. The Pilot is responsible for efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring that all flights are conducted to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. This role includes pre-flight planning, in-flight monitoring, and post-flight inspections, with close attention to regulatory requirements and company procedures. Seeking candidates with a minimum five years private/transport flight experience; Minimum 4,000 hours of flight time; FAA Airline Transport Pilot License.Requirements for the Pilot position include:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP).
- 20/20 vision (or correctable to 20/20).
- FAA Type Rating(s) for company aircraft.
- Thorough understanding of Federal Aviation regulations and safety procedures.
- Must be able to thoroughly perform pre- and post-flight airplane inspections.
- Must be able to function well in high-paced and at times stressful situations.
- Must have proficient knowledge with respect to flight operations manuals, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and delegate as needed.

Physical requirements must be met for the Pilot job, including frequently sitting for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
