Join our Team!Parkview Health is actively recruiting a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Physician to join their well-established team in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Specifics of Your Role in Palliative Care
- This position is full time, hours of 8am-5pm although flexing into the weekend could be considered if desired
- This position will involve seeing patients within Parkview Randallia, Parkview Regional Medical Center, and Extended Care Facilities. We currently have an inpatient hospice unit housed within Parkview Randallia Hospital.
- Call frequency is 1:3
- Board eligible / certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred, but internal medicine, family medicine, surgical or dual palliative care and medical oncology training would be considered for the right candidate
- Academic-style practice in a community setting
- Health system utilizes EPIC EMR System
Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute
- 200,000 square foot state of the art facility, opened in 2018.
- Serves the oncology needs for Parkview Health system with a catchment area population of over 1.3 million people.
- Cancer Institute is organized around Tumor Site Teams, each with their own Tumor Board and an array of support services
- Robust navigation and social work support
- All oncologic specialties are co-located under one roof.
- The Cancer Institute has the highest Net Promoter Score (NPS) of all service lines in Parkview Health.
- Options of supportive care for survivors of cancer in a dedicated Survivorship Clinic
The Team
- The team consists of one full-time Hospice Medical Director and several part-time Associate Medical Directors and 2 full-time Palliative Physicians. We also employ multiple nurse practitioners whose duties include completion of face-to-face administrative duties.
- We have a dedicated Hospice Pharmacy as well as an associated Home Health division with access to physical, occupational, speech, massage, and music therapies.
- Join an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals committed to providing expert consultation for in patients with serious, life-threatening or end of life illness
PPG Palliative Care
- Parkview Hospice works closely with our established Palliative Care Team which provides both inpatient and outpatient services to our patient population. Additionally, we work alongside a dedicated Palliative Oncology Team working within the Packnett Family Cancer Institute on the Parkview Regional Medical Center Campus
