OUTPATIENT POSITION
We are looking for a general Physiatrist who is eager to work with a broad patient population in providing a variety of services. This position requires proficiency in a number of skills across various diagnostic conditions including: musculoskeletal medicine, peripheral injections, ultrasound guided procedures, pain management, spasticity, electrodiagnostics, concussion, workers compensation, toxin injections, and cancer rehabilitation.
The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital and the Sinai Rehabilitation Center were founded nearly 60 years ago, and at the time was the first full department of PMR in the state outside a government facility.
We are an academically oriented department that includes a Research Division led by our NIH trained director of clinical research. Our residency program has been fully accredited since 1977. We have 12 residents, 4 per year. Sinai is now the home of a regional medical campus with George Washington University and a faculty appointment is obtainable. We are fully CARF accredited in inpatient brain injury, outpatient brain injury, general rehab, amputee rehab and stroke. All 14 current physiatrists are board certified in PMR, with subspecialties including brain injury, spinal cord injury, pain medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and independent medical examination.
This is an employed, full-time position. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Some inpatient call at Sinai is required. Residents take in house call. This is not an interventional spine position.
The right candidate will utilize excellent communication skills, provide collaborative leadership, participate in the academic activities of the department including resident teaching and research, and develop a vision for continued growth of the program. The position is available immediately.
