The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) setups team is proud to be part of the Office of Student Life. With nearly 100 years of special event experience, about 50,000 square feet of meeting space, and almost 30 venue spaces to choose from, the IMU hosts thousands of events each year.

Job Summary

This position supports all aspects of meeting and event setup within the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU), working evenings and weekends to ensure every detail is meticulously handled for successful events.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Assists with the setup of function rooms for meetings, catering, and conferences, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Moves and arranges event-related equipment, including tables, chairs, staging, sound systems, audiovisual equipment, and computers.
• Maintains direct communication with clients to ensure their needs are addressed and the event runs smoothly.

EDUCATION
Required

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.

SKILLS
Required

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively exchange information.
• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and respect for others.

Working Conditions / Demands

This is a physically active position requiring mobility. This position requires the ability to regularly move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

$13.10 per hour

Work Hours

Up to 29 hours per week.
This role requires evening and weekend availability.
