Description
The Indiana University (IU) Southeast Grenadier Hub is a student journey one-stop comprised of Academic Advising, Career Development, Student Central, and Financial Aid and Scholarships.Grenadier Hub provides a high-level service delivery philosophy and functions as a central operational area for student support services on the Southeast (SE) campus. Cross trained staff perform a variety of complex duties involving the interpretation, dissemination, evaluation, and problem-solving of student services and information for students, the general public, staff, and faculty (clients). The areas include, but are not limited to: financial aid, registration, financial literacy, student accounts, and other university-related services. Forms of interaction with clients include in-person, phones, and email. While this position reports directly through Student Central which includes the Office of the Bursar, the Office of Financial Aid, and the Office of the Registrar-it also assists with basic administrative functions for the entire Grenadier Hub.
Job Summary
- Provides customer service and administrative support for the Student Central office for student services.
- Greets all visitors, assesses questions, provides resources, schedules appointments, checks in for appointments, directs visitors to correct locations, navigates websites, understands forms, and provides resources and student deadlines for the Grenadier Hub.
- Reviews account balances and directs students on how to write checks.
- Answers and manages chatbot for Student Central website.
- Delivers full range of customer service to all clients including current students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
- Manages check-in system.
- Understands basic policy and procedures regarding billing, refunding, registration, drop/add, transcripts, student deadlines, financial aid, and related enrollment management departments.
- Copies, files, and folds letters.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, shredding, data entry, processing reports, duplicates, and communicating in person.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Preferred
- Some experience in related field
Required
- Knowledge of computers and database/word processing software
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work with wide range of people
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates ability to maintain confidential information
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves remaining stationary for extended periods of time. The role requires the ability to move up to 10 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
