Valencia College is seeking applicants for adjunct instructors to teach on an as needed basis for the CNC Machining program. Instructors will join the Advanced Manufacturing team at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center.
The role responsibilities will include: develops, plans, organizes, teaches, and provides appropriate feedback to ensure students are learning the essential industry competencies for their career pathway. Frequently engages with industry partners to ensure curriculum is developed and revised in collaboration with current industry standards and requirements.
Computerized Numerical Control machining process with manual milling and lathes. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in the following areas: 7+ years of CNC and manual milling and turning, Haas controller experience, CAD/CAM experience as well as 5 axis mill experience a plus.

This position will operate in a fully on-site environment.

Working Conditions
General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making. The typical work environment, physical and cognitive demands listed above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job specific working conditions
Must be able to travel locally on a flexible schedule, as needed. Must have reliable transportation, and proof of liability and property damage insurance on the vehicle used may be required. This position requires in-office and out-of-office (community) responsibilities that will vary on a daily / weekly basis. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends, as needed.
For specific disciplines, may be required to maintain an appropriate and valid driver’s license required to operate vehicles utilized for courses taught.
