Description
Perform special duties as assigned. This position is on stand-by for call-in work to support advance storm preparation and snow removal activities, as required.
How You Will Contribute
Emergency Operations: Assist with clearing snow and ice from roadways, applying abrasives and chemicals on road surfaces.
Manual Labor: Perform heavy labor such as installing tire chains, plows, and blades, as well as debris removal.
General Duties: Perform duties, tasks, activities, and/or projects as assigned.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment used during inclement weather to support emergency operations and roadway clearing.
Requirements
What Will Make You Successful
Ability to operate equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and tractors.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor including standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance on diverse equipment.
Ability to work day or night shifts to support emergency operations.
Safety shoes required.
Additional Considerations
Training, experience, or education in Emergency Operations, snow removal, or a related field is desired.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, night and/or day, when necessary.
Ability to work outside normal business hours in emergencies, inclement weather, and hazardous traffic conditions.
