Department: Sports and FitnessSalary: $12.00 per hour
Description:
The Fitness Attendant is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of the Wellness & Success Center. Specifically, this includes monitoring the activities on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor Fitness Center areas, and overlooking the activities in the gymnasium, bouldering wall, fitness studios, and running track.
Duties:
• Monitors activities on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor Fitness Center area
• Frequently monitors activities in the gymnasium, running track, fitness studios, and bouldering wall
• Checks out fitness equipment for eligible users
• Cleans equipment daily and throughout the shift as needed
• Greets and assists individuals with Fitness Center issues and proper usage of fitness equipment
• Follows and enforces all policies and procedures in Sports & Fitness
• Provides information on Sports & Fitness programs, services, and functions
• Attends occasional staff meetings, Sports & Fitness special events, and university/division-sponsored events
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Interest in fitness or athletics is encouraged
• Familiar with fitness equipment
• Friendly and dependable
• Helpful and customer service oriented
Qualifications:
• Must be a current UHD student and in good standing with the university
• Must be willing to work early mornings, midday, evenings, and weekends
