Oregon Health & Science University, a leader in academic medicine and research, in the heart of Portland, Oregon, seeks a Medical Director of Liver Transplant to join our growing team who are dedicated to advancing clinical excellence and groundbreaking research.
Position Highlights: The faculty member will participate in:
- Leadership: The Medical Director provides leadership for the liver transplant program and works in conjunction with other leaders, specifically the Surgical Director. This position is responsible for the growth and improvement of the clinical effort to assess patients for liver transplant.
- Clinical Care: Work clinically in the Hepatology and outpatient Endoscopy clinics, with intermittent call on the Hepatology Service (consulting only, no primary service)
- Academic Environment: Contribute to our mission through teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to ongoing advancements in gastroenterology and hepatology research and care.

About the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at OHSU specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of digestive and liver diseases. Our physicians and advanced practice providers are nationally recognized leaders in education, research, and clinical care. The Hepatology and Liver Transplant Program provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for a spectrum of liver diseases. Our nationally recognized hepatologists have been at the forefront of treatments for viral hepatitis, chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. The transplant program has a long track record of success, with more than 1,000 patients transplanted since 1988 and with 80-90 liver transplants annually.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO required
- Unrestricted Oregon medical license and/or ability to obtain
- 4+ years practicing Transplant Hepatologist at an accredited liver transplant center(s)
- Board certified in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology
- Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an academic health facility
- Individuals of diverse background and experiences are highly encouraged to apply
