The University of Kentucky is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity to join as an Adolescent Medicine- Medical Director in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated physician to help us advance the health and well-being of adolescents and young adults in our community and beyond.
At the University of Kentucky, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to achieve academic excellence. Our adolescent medicine team is comprised of one adolescent medicine physician, two general pediatricians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, therapists, registered dieticians, nurse navigator, social workers and registered nurses to provide comprehensive primary and consultative services. Our teen health clinic is federally funded through a Title X grant to provide family planning and related preventative health services.
The primary care services include general preventive health care, a Teen-tot program, and outreach at group home for adolescents with developmental disabilities. The consult team provides specialty care including evaluation and management of reproductive health including provision of long acting reversible contraceptives, mental health, eating disorder, disordered eating in outpatient setting. The consult team partners with Hematology for management of menstrual bleeding in Heavy menstrual bleeding clinic. In addition, consult team collaborates with inpatient team on management of eating disorder for medical stabilization and nutritional rehabilitation.
As a Medical Director, faculty will supervise healthcare services including outreach to optimize access to care, improve clinical quality measures, engage in quality improvement research. This role has an important collaborative relationship with their administrative/nursing partner, the Office of the Executive Chief Medical Office, and their division chief and/or chair. The medical director will be responsible for annual goals that include alignment with their administrative/nursing partner, know and understand finances, cost of care and operations of the clinic. Faculty will collaborate with the Division Chief in enhancing clinical programs per their interest and areas of clinical needs; engage in resident and medical education and scholarly activities.

Requirements
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with board certification in Pediatrics, Family Medicine or Med- Peds
Board certified in Adolescent Medicine.
Strong commitment to patient care, education, and research.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
Prior experience with administrative work is preferred but not required.
