Description

Meal Magic Maker at Buckhorn Retreat Center. We are looking for more than a cook, we are looking for a teammate who thrives in a camp environment where every day is different and community comes first.  Prepare hearty, comfort, delicious meals for groups a mix of fresh and pre-made items (no fine dining pressure here!) Work with our director to create menus (basic and easy), that balance flavor, efficiency, and budget. Handle the kitchen with pride, clean, organized and ready for action (keep your a positive attitude). Manage long but rewarding shifts, especially during busy retreats or summer camp weeks.  Lift and move supplies up to 50 lbs. Roll solo or with a small crew.  Serve guests with kindness even when expectations or high or unrealistic.

Requirements

Steady under pressure and able to keep your cool in a fast-paced environment. Handle heat and a hot kitchen! Adaptable, ready to pivot plans or menus when needed. Physically able to handle the demands of a kitchen with a small crew (one or two other helpers).  Comfortable working independently, self motivated but also a team player, when others are in the kitchen. Have a positive, cooperative, solution focused attitude.
