Preston Automotive Group is seeking a high-performing, experienced Market Area Director to
oversee four dealerships in Maryland and Delaware. This senior leadership position is
responsible for driving operational excellence across sales and fixed ops, building unified
teams, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.

What We're Looking For
- Strong industry background with one or more domestic OEMs (e.g., Ford, GM, Chrysler).
- Extensive General Manager-level experience, with full P&L responsibility and deep
understanding of fixed operations.
- Multi-rooftop leadership experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to build, lead, and retain great teams across multiple locations.
- Proven track record of high sales efficiency and strong service absorption.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow with ownership opportunity.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities-
Leadership & Operational Oversight
Provide strategic leadership to General Managers and department managers across multiple dealerships.
Develop and implement operational plans that align with company objectives, brand standards, and market conditions.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Act as the liaison between executive leadership and dealership management teams.
Financial & Asset Management
Oversee and monitor financial performance (sales, gross profit, net profit, expenses, and ROI) for all locations.
Ensure effective asset management, including real estate, facilities, inventory, and equipment.
Identify frozen capital across departments (new, used, service, parts, and body shop) and implement strategies to reduce it.
Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial controls to maximize profitability and reduce waste.
Sales & Marketing
Monitor and drive new and used vehicle sales performance, ensuring competitive pricing and market share growth.
Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistent branding, digital presence, lead generation, and community engagement.
Ensure dealerships are achieving sales effectiveness goals, lead conversion benchmarks, and customer retention targets.
Fixed Operations (Service, Parts, Body Shop)
Oversee service, parts, and collision center operations to maximize absorption rates and customer satisfaction.
Ensure process efficiency, proper staffing, training, and adherence to OEM and company standards.
Drive parts inventory control and minimize obsolescence.
Human Capital & Talent Development
Recruit, retain, and mentor General Managers and key leaders within the market area.
Implement consistent training, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
Promote a culture of accountability, diversity, and customer-first service.
Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and ethical practices.
Customer Experience & Compliance
Ensure dealerships deliver an exceptional, consistent customer experience across sales and service.
Monitor CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and online reputation management for all rooftops.
Ensure compliance with OEM requirements, legal regulations, and corporate policies.
Process & Performance Management
Standardize dealership processes for sales, F&I, service, and back-office operations.
Establish performance benchmarks (KPIs) and hold teams accountable for achieving them.
Lead performance reviews with General Managers, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in automotive retail management.
Proven success overseeing multiple rooftops and managing both domestic and import brands.
Strong financial acumen and understanding of dealership accounting, frozen capital, and asset management.
Deep knowledge of both Variable Operations (Sales, F&I) and Fixed Operations (Service, Parts, Collision).
Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to travel regularly across assigned market area.
