Managing Assistant Director 2
The Managing Assistant Director of the Occupational Therapy Kean Community Cares Clinic works under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health Professions and Human Services. In collaboration with the Chairperson of the Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) and the Academic Fieldwork Coordinators for the OTD and MS programs, the Managing Assistant Director manages all aspects of the Clinic located at Kean University. The Clinic is open six (6) days per week, twelve (12) months a year, with individual and group services in the daytime and during evening hours. The Managing Assistant Director holds multiple roles including treating therapist, student fieldwork educator supervisor, course instructor, and operational and marketing manager.
The Managing Assistant Director is required to ensure the continued development of the Clinic and its daily operations follow New Jersey State OT/OTA licensure law, state and federal laws, and the American Occupational Therapy Association's Occupational Therapy Practice Framework, Code of Ethics, Philosophy of Education and Guidelines for Supervision. Additionally, the Managing Assistant Director assists students as they develop their professional identity and adhere to evidence-based practice.
The Clinic is designed to enhance Kean OT students' learning while providing direct OT services to the local community, particularly our underserved community members. The Clinic provides each OT student the opportunity to apply their didactic learning to real world clients across the lifespan to enhance wellness and occupational performance, as well as for habilitation, rehabilitation, educational and support services. The Clinic is also a venue for program development, research and grant funded activities to better serve our community and establish best practices.
This employee is required to teach in-load courses, which will be assigned through the Department Chairperson and Dean. Teaching responsibilities include up to twelve (12) credit hours distributed over a twelve (12) month period, from September 1st to August 31st. This may include fall, winter, spring and/or summer teaching assignments. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master's degree from an ACOTE accredited program; licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of New Jersey; and a minimum of two years of clinical experience in OT is required. Five years of clinical experience in OT and two years of fieldwork supervision and/or administrative experience in the field is preferred. An OTD degree from an ACOTE accredited program may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to teach courses in the occupational therapy curriculum.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $100,000 to $110,000. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
