Description
MAINTENANCE WORKER I - IIPosition requires outstanding customer service, mechanical and construction skills and the ability to supervise others. Troubleshoots and solves district and site needs as they arise, maintains buildings and grounds in a safe and efficient manner. Must have demonstrable buildings and ground maintenance skills and be able to obtain an IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Ability to be trained and obtain CDL to drive school bus. Receive district-paid insurance coverage and below-market priced housing in Grand Canyon National Park while earning $20.00-$27.00/hour, depending on qualifications for 4 days/week, 10 hours/day. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years buildings and grounds maintenance experience with competence in varied areas.
• Possession of an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards, standard safety procedures, and regulations for the
maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.
• Knowledge of generally accepted construction, renovation, and repair standards.
• Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices and techniques and motor vehicle laws.
• Skill in the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, wood,
and related materials.
• Skill in communicating clearly, both in verbal and written forms.
• Skill in using heavy equipment, machinery and power tools.
• Skill in using a computer, related equipment, and software currently in use.
• Ability to read building plans.
• Ability to climb ladders, work from hydraulic li and/or scaffolding, walk around campus multiple
times daily.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, lift, kneel, bend, stoop, and remain seated for extended periods.
Salary/Compensation: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
