SALARY: The base salary for associate positions is $225,000 - $250,000, depending upon class year.

Our Litigation Group has a deep roster of talented commercial litigators practicing in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies nationwide. We have handled almost every conceivable intellectual property dispute, and a wide range of commercial, advertising, securities, white collar defense, professional responsibility, art and employment-related matters. We represent media, entertainment, marketing, and other companies and individuals, including best-selling authors, publishers, film and television celebrities, athletes, news industry professionals, and top advertising talent. We also represent investors, attorneys, partnerships, and professional services and other firms.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Proficiency in handling every stage of a litigation in state and federal courts and various ADR forums including conducting pre-filing fact investigations drafting pleadings, motions, effective discovery requests and targeted discovery responses.
- Strong research and writing skills are crucial as is knowledge of state and federal procedures.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of assigned cases, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court proceedings.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, multiple clients and multiple cases, working with all the partners in the Group, with pragmatism, patience, excellent judgment, and delivering stellar work product.
- Attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 4 – 7 years of law firm experience in a Litigation Group.
- Strong academic credentials and membership in the New York Bar.
- Demonstrated interest (and, ideally, some expertise) in areas relevant to our practice areas, such as copyright, trademark, professional responsibility, and commercial law issues (e.g. breach of contract, negligence, and fraud).
