The Position

The Altadena Library District has an immediate opening for a full-time Adult Services Librarian primarily focused on the Fabrication Lab (“Fab Lab”) located at Altadena Main Library. Under general direction from the Adult Services Manager, this team member:

•        Actively coordinates and participates in programming and engagement activities for the Fab Lab and other STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) initiatives.
•        Manages, promotes, and delivers a full range of engaging, innovative and technology-based programs.
•        Is knowledgeable of the necessary equipment, software and tools in relation to the innovative space, including but not limited to 3D printing, design, electronics, media editing, and sewing. 
•        Serves as a person-in-charge when management is out or unavailable. 
•        Performs circulation duties to stay on top of daily operational needs.
•        Enjoys cultivating robust, meaningful, inclusive collections that reflect the diversity of the community. 
•        Provides courteous reference and technology assistance to patrons.
•        Is prepared to operate the library vehicle and comply with the district’s Driver Policy while employed with ALD.
•        Can work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and evenings.
